Tigers defeat Reeds Spring 10-2 (Rebroadcast Available)

The Ozark Tigers put visiting Reeds Spring High School away by batting around in the sixth inning of a Central Ozark Conference baseball game, earning a 10-2 win.

Ozark is now 6-3 overall and 4-0 in the COC

Reeds Spring fell to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Ryne Armstrong keyed the winning attack with a pair of doubles, 2 walks, 3 runs batted in and a run scored for Ozark.

Brett Neill finished with 3 hits for Ozark, including a pair of doubles, scoring twice and driving in 12 runs with a steal in the game.

Corey Wiley was the winning pitcher for Ozark, working 5 innings while allowing just 4 hits and striking out 4 with 2 walks. Matt Jordan and Ethan Mather each worked an inning in relief, holding Reeds Spring scorless.

In the first inning, Reeds jumped on top 1-0 after lead-off hitter Jake Wydert beat out an infield single and moved tyo tyhird on an error. Wydert scored on a ground out by Ryan Reed.

Ozark answered with a run in the last of the first. Lead off hitter Brett Neill doubled and Levi Presley walked. Derek Harwell then reached on catcher's interference, loading the bases with no outs. With one out, Ethan Mather walked, and was dredited with an RBI, but that was all the Tigers could get off Reeds Spring starter Cody Burke.

The Wolves went up 2-1 with a run in the second. Jeff Clevenger singled and stole second, scoring on a single by Jake Wydert. Corey Wiley also gave up two walks in the inning, but escaped a bases loaded jam by inducing a ground out.

Corey Wiley then struck out the side in the top of the third, and retired 11 of the last 12 batters he faced in the game, giving up only one hit, a double to Cody Burke.

Ozark took the lead in the last of the third with a 2-out rally. Chris Loveday and Tom Wagaman each walked, then Ryne Armstrong belted a 2-run double to put Ozark on top 3-2.

In the last of the fourth, Brett Neill singled and Levi Presley walked. Derek Harwell singled to drive in Neill, and give Ozark a 4-2 lead.

In the sixth, Ozark sent 10 men to the plate while breaking the game open. Leving Presley started the rally with a walk - his fourth walk of the game. Derek Harwell singled and Ethan Mather walked to load the bases with one out. With 2 outs, Tom Wagaman was hit by a pitch, driving in a run. Ryne Armstrong walked to drive in another. Matt Jordan then delivered the key hit of the inning, a 2-run single.

Brett Neill added a 2-run double to account for the final score.

Ozark got good production up and down the lineup:

Derek Harwell singled twice, reached base safely another trip to the plate, drove in a run and scored.

Ethan Mather walked twice, scored and drove in a run.

Chris Loveday walked, stole a base and scored.
