Tigers blast Willard 13-1

The Ozark High School Tigers went deep 5 times at Willard on Thursday, April 17, earning a 13-1 Central Ozark Conference baseball victory.

Ozark improves to 11-4 on the season and moves to 6-0 in the COC with the win.

Derek Harwell and Ryne Armstrong each blasted a pair of home runs in the game, and Drew Crain added another as the Tigers pounded out 8 extra base hits.

Harwell finished with 3 hits in the game, including a double. Brett Neill also had 3 hits for the winners.

Ozark will be back in action Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19, at Free State High School in Lawrence, Kansas. Ozark will play Shawnee Mission (Kansas) South at 3 p.m. Friday and Olathe (Kansas) East at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Both games will be broadcast at 65721.info.

Matt Jordan picked up the pitching victory against Willard, allowing just 4 hits in the game.

The Tigers scored a run in the first and never trailed in the contest. Willard, which is 9-8 overall and 2-4 in the league, did not score against Jordan until the fifth, and final, inning.

Ryne Armstrong's 2-run home run was the highlight of a 5-run Ozark second. The Tigers batted around in the inning.

Ryne Armstrong homered again in the third, putting the Tigers up 7-0.

Derek Harwell blasted a 3-run shot in the fifth, and Drew Crain crushed a 2-run homer in that 6-run inning. Crain also had a single in the game for the Tigers.

Ethan Mather doubled and tripled in the contest for Ozark. Levi Presley and Matt Jordan also had hits for the Tigers.
