Ozark drops heartbreaker to nationally ranked Owasso

Nationally ranked Owasso slipped by visiting Ozark High School 2-1 in non-conference baseball action on Saturday. Owasso got back-to-back singles by Kirk and Mayfield in the last of the sixth to drive in the winning run. Ozark fell to 2-3 on the season with the setback. The winning pitcher for Owasso, Barges, pitched in the Oklahoma state title game last year. Barges struck out 5, walked 5 and gave up just 2 hits. Ethan Mather started for Ozark, working 4 innings, scattering 6 hits, giving up an unearned run and 2 walks while striking out 5. Ryne Armstrong worked the final 2 and 2/3 innings, giving up 2 hits with 2 walks and 4 strike outs, giving up just 1 earned run.
