Lucas Harrell opening day starter at Birmingham

Ozark High School graduate Lucas Harrell was the opening day starting pitcher for the Birmingham Barons, the Class AA Chicago White Sox affiliate, and led the Barons to a 3-0 win over Tennessee.

The right hander pitched 5 innings of shut out ball, allowing just 1 hit with 4 strike outs and a walk.

Lucas Harrell was also the starter for the Barons last week in a 6-5 win over Chattanooga, working 5 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs with 4 strike outs and a walk.

Lucas Harrell now has a 1.80 earned run average with 7 strike outs and 2 walks after 10 innings pitched in Southern Leaue action.
