Lady Tigers now 12-1-1 on the season
The Ozark Lady Tigers improved to 12-1-1 on the 2008 season with a pair of matches in the Sedalia Smith-Cotton High School Soccer Tournament on Saturday, April 19.
The Lady Tigers played to a 0-0 tie with Columbia Hickman Saturday morning.
Ozark earned a 2-0 win over Warrnesburg Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Tigers finished second in the tournament behind Springfield Glendale. The Lady Falcons had 3 wins at Sedalia Friday and Saturday, beating Smith-Cotton 4-2, Warrnesburg 4-2 and Columbia Hickman 1-0. Glendale earned first despite not having to play Ozark.
Paige Hemphill was the goal keeper for Ozark, leading a Lady Tigers defense which did not allow a goal in 3 matches at Sedalia. Defenders senior Jessica Bush, sophomore Megan jenisch and freshman jayme Braun were also outstanding this weekend.
Against Warrensburg, Alicia Collard opened the scoring with an unassisted goal, and the scored was 1-0 Ozark at the half.
On the first play of the second half, Megan Gunnels received an assist from Brittany Matthews before scoring the second goal of the match.
