The Ozark High School Lady Tigers celebrated victory number 500 for coach Tom Davidson in style Tuesday afternoon at Ozark, beating a strong Springfield Catholic squad 1-0 before a big crowd.

Senior Kristin Glaubitz scored the only goal midway through the second half, staying calm in the center of a crowd, striking the ball with her right foot, sending it into the corner of the net.

The Ozark defense was unyielding, playing most of the second half with Catholic on the attack. Sophomore goal keeper Paige Hemphill was outstanding, turning away three good shots on goal after Ozark had taken the lead.

Ozark improved to 2-1 on the season with the win. Catholic fell to 4-2-1.

Davidson, long time Kickapoo coach, is in his first season at Ozark. But the Lady Tigers celebrated win number 500 with their coach, filling the air with silly string, and breaking out t-shirts which honored the coach for his accomplishment.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to beat Catholic,” coach Davidson said.
